What to expect

  • Before Lip Fillers:

    Your overall health and facial structure are crucial factors. We'll assess your general health, including existing conditions and allergies, and discuss your medication history. We'll also examine your face and take photos for your records. When discussing lip size, it's essential to be realistic. Just like getting a haircut, you can share a picture for reference of your desired outcome, but achieving certain looks may depend on your unique facial features.

  • During The Procedure:

    uring the lip filler procedure, your injector will apply a topical anesthetic containing benzocaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine (BLT) to numb your lips, ensuring your comfort within 15 to 30 minutes. If you're allergic to BLT, a nerve block injection can be used for rapid numbing. Using a fine needle, your provider will then inject around 1 milliliter (mL) of filler into various lip areas, such as the vermillion border, Cupid's bow, and oral commissures. While not typically painful, you may feel mild pinching and possible eye-watering. The entire procedure usually takes 30-40 minutes.

  • After Lip Injections:

    After the procedure, your injector may gently massage your lips and apply ice to reduce potential swelling and bruising. Expect some swelling and sensitivity, typically subsiding within 24 to 48 hours but possibly lasting up to a week. A follow-up appointment with our Beauty Cult providers will be scheduled around two weeks later to assess progress, including updated photographs for your medical record.
