The Cosmelan Peel is a pharmaceutical-grade hydroquinone for skin lightening that requires a prescription from the doctor. After a skin analysis by the doctor if she determines that this chemical peel is right for you, the doctor will prescribe the peel and have it made especially for you which will take about 1-2 weeks. The Cosmelan Peel procedure will occur in two steps. During the first step, the doctor will apply the peel at the office and you will leave the peel on for eight to twelve hours. The second phase will begin 48 hours later with your first use of the Cosmelan 2 cream. This will be applied two to three times per day for the first two weeks and then daily for up to a year to maintain your results.

is it safe?

VI Peel - Yes! Peels are very safe for your skin. You may experience some mild dryness or redness for several days following your peel. Chemical peels cause redness followed by scaling which ends within 3-7 days.
Cosmelan Peel - Yes! All skin types can safely benefit from this treatment. However you should not have this procedure if you are pregnant or nursing, have used Accutane in the last six months, or have active rosacea. In these circumstances, treatment would need to be postponed or other options may be recommended.
